Well everyone sorry it's been a bit since I've posted, but the roomies have been busy using the computer to find a job for roomie 1 and a place for all of us to live. Well now that they've done both I can finally get some laptop time.
Roomie 1 found a great job and starts next week, she says it's a great physicians clinic in Chevy Chase MD and she's feels really fortunate to have found a job so quickly. Also, she's been working as a florist since the first week we got here so that's been a relief as well. She spends her Mondays bright and early (5:30am) at the Mandarin Hotel doing the floral arrangements for their lobby, restaurants, guest rooms and special events! Here's some pics of a luncheon she did her first week!
On Thursdays and Fridays she's at the studio working on events they have booked. She said this floral job was really fun b/c this time she was hired actually as a "designer" instead of a designer/assistant. She learned tons from the team @ Lush Floral, and is really grateful b/c this time around, she's making everything and she has a assistant! It's still someone else's designs of course since it's not her studio, but she's making everything, they just tell her what it's supposed to look like and she makes it! She said she's making a point to take time to show the assistants some of the tricks she learned b/c she really appreciated it when the designers @ Lush did that for her. Also, she said she has lot of fun working with another designer that works at the studio, they laugh and joke a lot and both love to be organized, so they work really well together in the busy environment of a event. She is bummed she won't be working with her now that she'll be at the doctors office and won't be playing with flowers all week, but feels really good about the MD office job, so she's going to make a point of staying in touch with her new friend and is just going to purchase flowers for the house lots so she can play with flowers at home. Also, the studio owner said she's really bummed she can't stay longer, but would love to have her back anytime she wants to help w/weddings etc so I'm sure she'll still do a wedding here and there.
So speaking of home, last weekend they signed a lease on a great condo in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of DC! They told us there's a dog park minutes out our front door and a Metro station a quick walk away to help keep their work commute fast so they can hurry home to take us for long walks along the many trails in the neighborhood or to one of the many pet friendly outdoor cafe's or bistro's in the area! Some features they told me about that made it sound pretty cool are; there is exposed brick walls in the living room and hall, huge master bedroom, and beautiful master bath, hardwood floors throughout, smaller condo building (nothing like the massive high rise we are in now) w/secure access & it has the great traditional DC look they were hoping for (imagine a DC Row House, but on a bigger scale), there is a farmers market on Saturday's really close by and another one a tiny Metro ride away on Sunday's, AND it has 2 full bathrooms (so no more of everyone waiting on the 1 bathroom when we have dinner/weekend guests!). It's little smaller then the CA house, but we all agreed that this time we wanted to see what city living was all about and think this is going to be a great neighborhood to do that in so we are willing to sacrifice space for a great neighborhood. Everything DC has to offer is a quick Metro ride away, we think it's going to be a TON of fun!
Photos to come...or you can always book a trip to come see it for yourself too :) Or here's a link to a website I found that tells you a little about Adams Morgan

Roomie 2 is enjoying his new office; great team, interesting assignments and is excited about many of the projects he has to come. When you come to visit he can tell you a little about it, but for now we'll point out that he wears suits to work much more here then in the previous location :)
Gotta go now because I have lots to do; bark at the people walking by our door, bark at the construction workers remodeling our building and then take a nap to rest up for when we got outside for a walk/potty time and run down and then back up 6 flights of stairs (roomie 1 keeps saying this will help her get into great shape....I sure hope so b/c those stairs are really confusing when I'm on a lease and she's taking both of us and I trip over the leash, then my sis, then the lease, then almost knock my roomies over when another dog enters the stairwell....oops :) I bet they are looking forward to only 1 small basically 1/2 flight of stairs at our new condo :)
Love Penny
